What is AssetSculpt?
Most owners who come to AssetSculpt are paying more tax than necessary and carrying a business that still depends on them. The firm — led by Greg J. Rodriguez, CPA, M.S. Taxation, CEPA — advises owners doing $1M–$10M in revenue on strategies that reduce taxes within the law, strengthen profit and cash flow, and increase what the business is worth at exit.
Strategic tax planning
Tax strategies built around your entity structure, your compensation, and your cash position — designed to reduce taxes without compromising the business as it grows.
Compensation and retirement design
Owner compensation, cash balance, and defined-benefit plans modeled before you commit — so retirement design strengthens the tax plan instead of competing with it.
Business value and exit readiness
Advisory on the factors that determine what a buyer will pay — addressed years before a sale, not months.
The strategies, named.
In the peak earning years
- Entity and structure review
- Salary vs. distribution structure
- Pass-through entity tax (PTET) review
- Multi-year tax scenario analysis
- Peak-earnings-years tax planning
Building a business that outlasts its owner
- Cash balance and defined-benefit design — beyond a fully funded 401(k)
- Owner compensation structure
- Value-driver and risk assessment
- Owner-dependence reduction
Approaching a transition
- Partner and shareholder buy-in / buy-out structuring
- Exit and transition planning — five to fifteen years out
- Deferred compensation and exit timing
- Wealth concentration planning
Every engagement starts with the AssetSculpt Tax Plan, scoped to the business in front of it — which of these strategies apply, in what sequence, is the work of the plan, not a menu to pick from.

Your advisor
Greg J. Rodriguez, CPA, M.S. Taxation, CEPA
Four CPA firms built from the ground up — by an advisor who knows what it takes to grow a business, and what it costs when the owner carries all of it. The work: tax savings that are safe for the business being built, and its eventual value kept in view from the start — with your advisor standing with you in that fight, not apart from it.
Client testimonial
“Greg has advised our companies for 13 years. He doesn’t just prepare our returns — he plans ahead, explains the strategy before anything is filed, and keeps both the tax outcome and the value of the businesses in view. That kind of counsel is rare, and it’s why we’ve stayed with him.”
Client testimonial
“Greg has been my CPA for years and goes above and beyond every time — a quick call during tax season, guidance through buying my first home, always fast to respond and always personal. He handles everything behind the scenes, so I can focus on my family and building my business. I recommend him without hesitation.”
Common questions
Who does AssetSculpt work with?
AssetSculpt works exclusively with business owners doing $1M–$10M in revenue with $250K or more in earnings from the business: single-company operators, multi-entity owners, and owners weighing private-equity or roll-up offers. The criteria are narrow by design — every engagement is built for owners at that stage.
What services does AssetSculpt provide?
Four connected advisory areas: strategic tax planning for owners (peak-earnings-years planning, salary vs. distribution structure, entity and structure review, multi-year tax scenario analysis); business value and exit readiness (value-driver and risk assessment covering owner dependence, customer concentration, financial reporting quality, and operational efficiency); compensation and retirement design (cash balance and defined-benefit plans beyond a fully funded 401(k)); and business owner strategy (partner buy-in and buy-out structuring, exit and transition planning, and wealth concentration planning).
What does AssetSculpt cost?
The Year-End Tax Sprint is $2,500 and is credited toward a full tax plan. The AssetSculpt Tax Plan is a flat fee of $10,000–$25,000, scoped to the business and confirmed in writing before work begins. Ongoing advisory is $2,500–$5,000 per month.
What is a cash balance plan, and who is it for?
A cash balance plan is a defined-benefit retirement plan that lets business owners shelter substantially more income than a 401(k) alone. It matters at AssetSculpt's client level because a fully funded 401(k) is rarely sufficient at earnings of $250K and up. Cash balance and defined-benefit modeling is part of every AssetSculpt Tax Plan, matched to the owner's earnings profile and timeline.
When should I start planning my exit?
Exit and transition planning belongs on the agenda whether the transition is five years away or fifteen, while the most options are still open. The risks buyers price against a business — owner dependence, customer concentration, weak financial reporting, and operational inefficiencies — take time to fix, and each one addressed adds transferable value.
Who is Greg J Rodriguez?
Greg J Rodriguez, CPA, M.S. Taxation, CEPA, founded AssetSculpt after more than 30 years advising business owners. He has built four CPA firms, with four exits — three successful, and the fourth teaching him firsthand how quickly business value can be compromised when underlying risks go unaddressed. Before AssetSculpt he spent 22 years running GJR Consulting as the financial quarterback for $1M–$10M owners. He is also a California Real Estate Broker, licensed since 1989.
Where is AssetSculpt located?
AssetSculpt is based in Henderson, Nevada, in the Las Vegas area. Its advisory work — tax strategy, profitability and cash-flow improvement, and business value and exit readiness — is delivered for business owners doing $1M–$10M in revenue with $250K+ in earnings.
How do I get started?
Take the 3-question Fit Quiz on this page — it asks about ownership, revenue, and earnings. If you meet the criteria, book a free 30-minute consultation through Calendly. The Year-End Tax Sprint ($2,500, credited toward a full tax plan) is available as a first step.
Is the first consultation free?
Yes. The first consultation is a free 30-minute call by Zoom or phone, available weekdays 9am-5pm Pacific.
What is business value advisory?
Business value advisory is ongoing work to raise what a company is worth to a buyer. AssetSculpt focuses on four risks that lower value: owner dependence, customer concentration, financial reporting quality and operational efficiency.

The fit quiz
Three questions. A direct assessment of fit.
AssetSculpt advises business owners only — owners doing $1M–$10M in revenue with $250K or more in earnings from the business. All three thresholds must be met. Three questions, one answer: a consultation for businesses that meet the criteria. Nothing is stored on this page.
Are you an owner or partner in the business?
AssetSculpt advises business owners only — ownership carries the most significant tax and value implications.
Annual business revenue
Last twelve months, best estimate. To qualify for a consultation, revenue must be $1M–$10M.
Owner earnings from the business
Salary plus distributions / K-1 income from your business, before tax — earnings from the business you own are what count toward the $250K threshold.
Your profile meets AssetSculpt’s criteria for a consultation.
Your responses confirm the three criteria AssetSculpt works within: business ownership, revenue between $1M and $10M, and earnings from the business of $250K or more. The next step is a consultation with Greg to review your current tax position and determine whether a written tax plan is warranted.
30 minutes, weekdays 9am–5pm Pacific — choose Zoom or a phone call.
Your business does not yet meet the full AssetSculpt criteria.
Based on your responses, your business does not yet meet the full AssetSculpt criteria — business ownership, $1M–$10M in revenue, and $250K or more in earnings from the business — and a full engagement would not be proportionate at this stage. When your revenue and earnings reach both thresholds, retake the assessment and a consultation becomes the appropriate next step.
